I have a Honeywell HE360A whole house humdiifier that has worked well for years. The only issue I have experienced is some fine mineral-like dust that is released from the unit. A heating contractor told me to try the new paper-like filter pad. I found this (HC26P) and installed it. A few days later I found water on the floor around the furnace. I took the humdiifier apart thinking I had done something wrong. I could not find anything. When I put it back together I watched it and found it dripping every couple of seconds from around the area where the drain tube meets the humdiifier. Since the only thing that was different was the type of pad, I pulled this pad out and put in a new wire-mesh type like I have used before. No more leaks! I contacted Honeywell via their WEB support site and they replied with the following: You cannot use the paper pads on the HE360 for that reason. It will leak. We recommend the mesh pads. Well, I don't understand why my humdiifier is listed on the filter box if this is a known issue. I replied to their email asking this question and noted that I lost the money that I had spent on it. I'll see how they respond. Maybe this pad work fine for other models, but don't use it on the HE360 series humdiifiers.
